EXCELLENCE IN CRAFTSMANSHIP
In 1946, Alfredo Porro transformed his workshop into Officine Meccaniche Porro, e$ ectively turning a craft laboratory into a corporate endeavor that, however, never lost its artisanal roots – which are still visible in the whole manufacturing process, but most of all in the AD-HOC Division.
Strongly endorsed by Porro family’s third generation, Fabio, Donata and Paola, the Ad-Hoc Division has been set up in order to satisfy every special customers’ request, also thanks to a smart configuration of the production facilities.
At Officine Meccaniche Porro we create products whose quality, artisanal passion, aesthetics and state-of-the-art technology well represent Italian Excellence in the world, meeting any customers’ need.
CRAFTSMANSHIP AND ITALIAN TECHNOLOGIES
The customer, the architectural styles and the technological research are constant incentives to convert any project and product into selected creations.
A brass rod, with a temperature of 750° C, is put into a mould able to compress the material with a strength up to 3.600 tons in order to obtain products with extreme material compactness.
PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition)
The PVD treatment confers a very high RESISTANCE to chemical and atmospheric agents, excellent resistance to oxidation and a strengthening, compared to normal galvanic covering, of the anti-scratch resistance.
• 11 finishes available
• 20 years experience
A special machine allows to bush-hammer, or corrugate, a full brass surface, making it pleasant to the touch. This process requires manual touch-ups in order to eliminate possible smearing and thus obtain a perfect finished product.
EXPERIENCE, RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
DIAMOND POLISHING PROCESS
It is a refined process used for jewels and precious objects. It gives the product:
• Geometrical purity
• Flatness of surfaces
The utensil used for this manufacturing is composed of a natural diamond, considered the most resistant and abrasive mineral present in nature, that contributes to the polishing and final brightness.
The new stainless steel Ball Bearing (patent deposited) with fixed spring combined.
• MECHANISMS: it removes mechanical friction and the wear and tear
• AESTHETIC: it permits to obtain a thickness of the plate/rose of just 5mm
• ASSEMBLING: standard drilling (diameter 22) without extra working on door
ATTENTION TO DETAILS
LOST WAX CASTING PROCESS
A wax model finely produced by the artisan is covered with ceramic dust which, appropriately oven-dried at 1,200°, creates the cast that will work as mould for the fusion.
Using this process, it is possible to obtain objects with complex shapes and enough accurate details.
The method is used for small objects that need extreme ATTENTION and CARE to detail. An example are the finishes Old Gold and Imperial Gold: their pigment’s shade is handcrafted.
The product, which is already checked in all its manufacturing processes, is tested again in its technical, functional and aesthetic features by a skilled worker. He also organises the packaging and, with his signature on related certification, personally guarantees its quality.
