Officine Meccaniche Porro offers a production where quality, passionate craftsmanship, aesthetics and the best available technology well represent the Italian excellence in over 80 countries worldwide.
On the occasion of Officine Meccaniche Porro’s 70th birthday, Fabio, Donata and Paola Porro dedicated to grandpa Alfredo a complete catalog of accessories for furniture, curtains and stairs.
It was 1946, indeed, when Alfredo Porro made the big leap, transforming his artisan workshop into Officine Meccaniche Porro. The Cantù facilities, renamed Officine Meccaniche Porro, became a reference point for the most important furniture makers and carpenters of the Brianza region, an area north of Milan famous for the production of furniture, as well as windows and doors.
The quality of the raw materials used and the handiwork were, and still are, unquestionable. For his creations and in honor of his “qualityabove-all” philosophy, Alfredo Porro chose to use brass over zinc alloy, which, though cheaper than brass, was qualitatively weaker.
Giuseppe Porro joined his father, eventually taking the company’s helm, which is today held by the family’s third generation. Production continues, always distinguished by the high quality of raw materials, accurate handiwork and search of the best technology. Today, as in 1946, at Officine Meccaniche Porro even the smallest knob must be perfect, so it is made using the best materials available.
All Alfredo Porro brand products are 100% Made in Italy. They guarantee top quality, care in every detail and impeccable design. In short: all Alfredo Porro products can unquestionably claim to embody Italian Excellence in the world.
